Van Buren Youth Initiative, in partnership with Van Buren Tech, is offering no-cost after-school programs on Tuesdays for middle and high school students.

These hands-on classes give students the opportunity to build skills, gain career awareness, and learn more about their strengths:

• Exploring Medical & Health Science Careers: Introduces students to a variety of healthcare and medical careers while building foundational skills through activities, simulations, and projects.

• Future Ready: Skills for Success: Focuses on communication, teamwork, problem solving, and professionalism to help students prepare for interviews and the workplace.

• Let’s Do Engineering: Toys & Games: Engages students in engineering concepts by designing and creating toys and games while learning how products are manufactured.

• Sketch to Screen: Teaches students how to take ideas from paper to digital design by creating fonts, mascots, and original artwork using industry tools.

• Own Your Strengths, Shape Your Future: Helps students identify their personal strengths, build confidence, and learn how to apply those strengths in school and future planning.

These interactive classes are designed to support student growth in a welcoming environment while building skills that transfer beyond the classroom.
